Description

Heads-up Display, also known as HUD, is a transparent graphic which displays data in the line of sight, eliminating the need to look away from the usual viewpoint.

The HUD’s graphics are developed with Augmented Reality technology and were originally developed for the military aviation industry, however, with extensive evolution in the technology HUDs are now being utilised in other professional industries with the leading advances being made in the automotive trade.

Augmented reality HUDs are creating a better driving experience by providing real time key information through sensor data, such as alerts and navigation notifications which interact with and mark real world objects which are projected straight into the driver’s line of sight.

By placing graphics directly in the driver's line of sight that interact with and augment real world objects, HUDs can significantly improve driver situational awareness.
