Saturday: Amazon Release AR Shooter Game To Promote The Boys

To celebrate the return of the second series of ‘The Boys’ Amazon Prime Video are giving fans of the show an opportunity to blast away villains with  its new AR game app.  

The AR game, Baby Laser Tag, is based on the plot of the second season and lets players take on agents of the villainous corporation at the center of the show and its corrupted superheroes while collecting objects central to the story of the new season. 

The objective? Stay alive and blast away as many villains as possible.

Sunday: Burberry Partner With Snapchat For The Animal Kingdom Pop-Ups

Burberry has launched worldwide pop-ups to sell their signature bags and accessories. Along with the pop-ups, Burberry has partnered with Snapchat to showcase an in store gamification experience. 

Snapchat users can scan the Snapcode found in the pop-ups, shoppers are transported into the world of Burberry’s Animal Kingdom and see the animals around them come to life. By tapping on the augmented animals shoppers can unlock offers and rewards.

Monday Calendar

Monday: Emergency Service Responders Trained To Use AR And Exoskeletons

Researchers at the LEARNER project have created a MR learning environment, which uses exoskeletons and AR to train and assist emergency service workers and improve their safety and performance by enhancing their physical and cognitive abilities. 

Using shared AR programs, command staff are able to guide emergency responders who are wearing an AR headset and give them real time information in the form of scene annotations regarding the location of victims, exits and potential hazards.

Tuesday: Keepmoat Launches AR App For Homebuyers

Keepmoat, who provides private homes for sale, has developed a new AR app to help potential buyers see what modern, urban living will be like at a Keepmoat development in Glasgow.

The AR app is an immersive experience which lets shoppers explore the entire £250 million NorthBridge development through their smartphone or tablet and preview the range of bespoke 1 to 5 bedroom homes and apartments across ten new neighbourhoods, which are now available to purchase.

Wednesday: 3D Mural Comes “Crashing” To Life With AR

Leon Keer’s latest mind bending mural, features an awkward balance of stacked teacups that look on the edge of tipping over.

The Mural called Shattering, was collaborated on with AR designer Joost Spek of 3Dpicnic, who animated the artwork and created the AR experience. By scanning the mural through the Leon Keer app, the animated teacups shatter.

Thursday Calendar

Thursday: Comic Con 2020 Create Augmented Reality Funko Pop! Star Wars Figures

The New York Comic Con has gone virtual for their 2020 event in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The exclusive merchandise has been showcased, including a trio of Star Wars themed Funko Pop! bobbleheads, which featured an AR reveal of the special-edition ‘The Child’ and Luke Skywalker. 

Collectors can add the characters to their collection virtually through the AR tool by scanning the QR code and following the instructions, users can place the virtual 3D model of the bobblehead on any flat surface to see the detailed augmented replica of the famous toy.

Friday: Augmented Reality Deployed In The US Navy 

AVATAR Partners, innovators in XR, who develop software solutions for heavy-duty industry and defence, have been contracted by the US Navy to provide its Simplified, Intelligent AR Quality Assurance (SIA-QA) solution, which will focus on supporting aircraft wiring maintenance for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Boeing V-22 Osprey aircraft as well as providing refresher training for aircraft technicians who have completed tours of duty away from the system for which they were trained.
